KCC investigation into ambulance poster erection “waste of money and resources”
An investigation by Kildare County Council (KCC) into the erection of “Austerity Kills – Save Our Ambulance” posters has been branded by People Before Profit North Kildare as a “waste of money and resources”.
People Before Profit candidate for Maynooth local electoral area Martin Grehan said: “Highlighting the ambulance cuts is far more important than the specifics of litter legislation. The posters are not litter. Nationwide people are losing their lives because of a crumbling ambulance service caused by swingeing cuts at govermental level. Efforts would be best focused on returning this vital local service than investigating the erection of the posters. However, we understand that individual staff members at KCC are only doing their jobs, our criticisms lie with the legislation and Fine Gael and Labour, the implementers of the ambulance cuts”

Ambulance Posters cause a stir…
The Liffey Champion report on how our posters are “illegal” at front of paper, while our protest slots in somewhere in the middle. Great publicity for the posters, the slogan, and the cause. Returning our ambulance service is a much more important issue than the legality of posters, and journalists attempting to stir things are only aiding us by giving us publicity.
Some pictures of myself and Réada sticking up another two posters today.

Photos from Dublin Fire Brigade “Save Your Ambulance” Protest
Went in today to show solidarity with Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB). They were marching to save their ambulance services from the clutches of the HSE. As we marched word reached us that due to the outcry the review is cancelled and DFB’s service is safe for the foreseeable future.
Just shows that people power can win concessions, gives us hope where our campaign is concerned.

We had a great response from public on Saturday at the protest, slowing traffic to a stand-still at one point with our chants. A few pics from the day, starting with one of me and my green laces on the megaphone:
